Hi, my name is London, and I'm a Cheeky Butler. I was born and raised in Japan and started my career in party entertainment when I finally left my home country at 27 years old and decided to live a little bit more free and vicarious! I always enjoyed people, and I wanted to do something that constantly pushed my boundaries and challenged me. I was always a bit shy and nervous around women growing up, so this was great learn the art of entertainment!
Growing up, I actually never really did celebrate Halloween too much. I worked alot behind a bar and it was always just a time of the month rather than a festive holiday. I realised just how much of a big deal it is here in the US, and it doesn't change as we grow from children to childish adults!
When I think back to Halloween as a kid, it was all about the scary stuff. Most kids my age wanted to look like one of their favorite Hcharacters. I simply wanted to look as insane as possible and scare as many people. In Japan, costumes were judged on how terrifying they looked, not how flattering they were. Nobody was asking if Frankenstein had abs, or if he could dance. We weren't wearing costumes that showed off our tiny muscles and skinny legs. But somewhere along the way, Halloween changed. The Disney outfits gave way to lingierie and high heels. Princess dresses gave way to every variation of Honey Birdette.

I geta a front row seat to every party. You’d be surprised how many times I’ve walked into a party expecting cobwebs and skeletons, only to find “sexy witch” stirring cocktails in the kitchen and “shirtless vampire” challenging people to beer pong. It's wild how much more natural it seems now. Halloween has turned into this unapologetically provocative holiday — the one night where people don’t just get to be someone else, but the sexiest version of someone else. Nobody blinks twice when a devil shows up in a red bikini instead of horns and a pitchfork. If anything, that’s the expected version.
I've been to many Halloween-themed bachelorette parties. It's very fun to see everyone dress up as what appears to be a sexy version of someone else, but is really the best version of themselves! Its fun to watch something as simple as dress-up bring everyone in the room, the friendship group, the whole party....together! I guess, considering what I'm wearing, I'm an easy fit for most Halloween parties that I go to. Because I have had this costume with me over the last 8 years, I have literally for most of my adult Halloween party life, have just popped this on and went as "Magic Mike" or a Cheeky Butler!

I think that no matter what type of culture that you grow up in or what religion you celebrate, we all share this collective desire to explore another way to "be". Whether its a pop figure icon we idolise, or an alter-ego that we want to give the spotlight to for a night, we need times and events like this to express ourselves.
I've even done a few Halloween theme'd bachelorette parties. I've asked alot of the women for the reason behind their costume, and in alot of instances I find that they hold a deep relationship to it. Alot come down to childhood memories, but some women of dressed of the person they envision themselves as. Even though it didnt' look it on the outside, it's interesting to see us as a different version of ourselves, and sometimes that is refelcted (knowingly or unknowingly) in our alter-ego's. It's interesting to learn about things that gives clues into a person's mindset, character, and overall persona.
So...we still have a month. And I know it's so common just to go along with what everyone does, and just do the usual routine. But if you're reading this, you will get another 50 ~ 60 more Halloweens...if we're lucky! So stay hydrated, healthy, and happy and make sure that we put some effort into making your next Halloween a core memory! Let's liven it up a little...so if you want to change a life, refer one of your friends and give them the code "CHEEKYHALLOWEEN" for 20% off of their party with us! Oh, and life is short. Get saucy.
